New 3D Options
This information sheet describes expanded 3D video options available for your TV. This sheet supplements the descrip-
tion of 3D video on page 27 of the Basic Owner’s Guide provided with your television. The new options reflect:
Automatic detection of 3D video from HDMI 1.4a-compliant 3D video devices
Compatibility with additional 3D signal formats
How Do I Know If My TV Carries
the New 3D Options?
If you received this sheet packed with the TV, your TV
already carries the new options.
If your TV was manufactured prior to issue of this
information sheet, check if the TVs software version
number is 012.06 (or later) or open the 3D Mode
menu and look for the new options described below.
To see the software version number, press MENU. The software
version is displayed in the lower left corner of the main menu.
Software versions 012.06 and later carry new 3D options.

How Do I Use the New 3D Options?

Select Automatic and press
ENTER
. Press
EXIT
to close the menu.
If the image looks correct, keep the setting
at Automatic for the current device. This
device is HDMI 1.4a compliant.
For non-compliant 3D sources, open the
Picture > 3D Mode menu and select a
source format based on how the picture
looks:
Side by Side
Two images, screen
split vertically
Top/Bottom
Two images, screen
split horizontally
Checkerboard
(always required for
checkerboard signals)
Blurry double image

When finished watching 3D video, open this
menu and select Automatic or Off.

3D video devices.
Use Glasses L-R and
Glasses Control as described
in the Basic Owner’s Guide.
Off
Turns off 3D images.
Resumes normal TV operation when viewing a
normal 2D signal. See the other side for how TV
functions are affected by 3D video.
Choice of Source Formats
If your device is non-HDMI 1.4a compliant, you must
choose the correct setting from this list.
HOME-CINEMA TELEVISION
738 Series
838 Series
Automatic
When the TV detects a 3D signal from an
HDMI 1.4a-compliant device, it switches
automatically to 3D mode and selects the
correct 3D format.
When receiving a normal 2D signal, the TV
automatically exits 3D mode.
